Course Overview:
Join a band with similar aged students, get personal expert instrument tuition from our highly experienced teachers and learn classic songs as a
group. On the final day you will record a very special live performance with the band for you to keep or post to your own social media pages! As well as working on songs and recording your video track, you will receive personal, and full band tuition from your expert teachers who are also involved in the music industry at the highest levels.

Your Expert Teacher:
Matt Young
Matt has many years of experience as a musician, producer, performer and accomplished music teacher. He has appeared on and produced many recordings, playing everything from guitar to bass, piano, and keyboards as well as singing. Matt plays in several bands including his own solo project ‘Maiden’s of Mercury,’ where he covers most of the instruments, sings lead vocals and produces all recordings.

What age do I need to be to attend these sessions?
This course is open for 11-18 year-olds.
What equipment do I need to sign up for this course?
You only need your instrument and a device running the Zoom app: https://zoom.us
Do I need any experience in music to be able to join this course?
You need to have at least 12 months of experience on your instrument to be able to join this course (if you have less please email: [email protected] to find out what other courses we have on offer).
Who will be in my band?
Our bands are made up of singers, bass players, guitarists, drummers and sometimes piano players. Your band members will all be of a similar age and level of ability to you. It is also possible for current band members or friends to join this course.
What song will we play on our video performance?
Your teacher will have a list of songs that band members can look at, and then can agree to choose a track from.
How will I record my video performance?
You will be sent a backing track to play along with. Once you are ready you can simply record your video performance on any device using headphones to hear the backing track. We don’t need to hear the backing track in you performance video, we just need to hear your instrument/voice.
Once your video performance is recorded you can just email it across to: [email protected] and we will do the rest.
You will then be emailed the full finished band performance video!
Why do we need to record our video performances separately?
Because of latency issues with video call platforms, it’s better for all band members to record their videos separately. This is similar to what a lot of bands have been doing recently with lockdown performance videos.
